💦MESSAGE…
We all know that there are consequences to any action we take. What we do can set into motion a series of events that may continue long after we are gone. Unfortunately, when we are making a decision, most of us think only of the immediate consequences. These are often misleading because they are short-lived.

Abraham, a man born and lived his early life in Ur in the Chaldeans. His wife was Sarah, his father, Terah and his brothers, Haran and Nahor. Abraham had a choice to make. His decision was between _setting out with his nuclear family and belongings for parts unknown_ *or* _staying right where he was with his extended family in his father’s land_. He had to decide between the security of what he already had and the uncertainty of traveling under God’s direction. All he had to go on was God’s promise to guide and bless him. Abraham could hardly have been expected to visualize how much of the future was resting on his decision to follow God set into motion the development of the nation that God would eventually use as His own when He visited earth Himself. When Christ Jesus came to earth, God’s promise was fulfilled; through Abraham the entire world was blessed – a life with God was restored, Hallelujah!.

LIFE APPLICATION
You and I probably don’t know the long-term effects of most of our decisions we make. But shouldn’t the fact that there will be long-term results cause us to think carefully and seek God’s guidance as we make our choices and take actions everyday?. *And Abram believed the lord, and the lord counted him as righteous because of his faith. Gen. 15:6 NLT*. Abraham had his dependence, trust and faith in God alone even in very awkward times. His has been one of the exemplars to paddle our lives by. *Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come. 1 Cor. 10:11 NKJV

Let’s pray: Lord, our God, please cause us to add this nugget from Abraham to our lives in Christ Jesus’ name. Amen.
