💦MESSAGE…
Talking of a true encounter with Jesus, the Christ without Zacchaeus’ meeting with Jesus will be incomplete.

For the Roman empire to finance their great world empire, they levied heavy taxes on all nations under their control. Israel was not an exception to this levy. The Jews opposed these taxes because the levies supported a secular government and its pagan gods, but they were still forced to pay. Tax collectors, Jews by birth were chose to work for Rome and were considered traitors. Besides it was a common knowledge that tax collectors were making themselves rich by gouging their fellow Jews. No wonder the people muttered when Jesus went home with the chief tax collector, Zacchaeus.

Despite the fact that Zacchaeus was both a cheater and a turncoat, Jesus loved him, and in response this chief tax collector was converted and saved(Luke 19:8). In almost every society, there is a group of people considered ‘most evil’ or ‘most immoral’, and so not fit to hear the Good News, but Jesus, the Christ loves them dearly, He seeks to save them.

Friend, despite all that you did, Jesus, the Christ still tells you that, He loves you dearly. Respond like Zacchaeus did.

Salvation has set its table for all.
